Mist
Falls is one of the largest (if not the largest) waterfalls in Kings
Canyon National Park. I've visited it several times and it can be reach
by day-hiking. In early Spring such a tremendous amount of water
courses over its slopes that mist is sent up into the air as high as
the average pine tree surrounding its banks is tall. It is much more
enjoyable (if less spectacular) to visit in mid summer when the water
flow has ebbed a bit. Location: Near Cedar Grove & Roads End in Kings Canyon National Park Google Maps - Roads End & Paradise Valley Related Pages: Paradise Valley Panoramic Photos My June 2010 Paradise Valley Backpacking Trip |

Here is the top of the falls during Spring when snow melt is at its peak. Compare it to later in the season.
Top of the falls, June 2010. The Kings River was running at a 20-year high.

The base of the falls in Springtime is a wet and "misty" place. I could not get close
enough to take a good photo of the falls for fear of getting my camera drenched.
